Rapid, safe and effective pain relief
ENTONOX is a ready-to-use medical gas mixture composed of nitrous oxide and oxygen in equal proportions. It is an odourless gas and when inhaled it produces a pain-relieving and sedative effect without loss of consciousness. Moreover, it also has properties that help to reduce anxiety.
Reliability and safety
It is a very effective analgesic agent which is widely used for childbirth, painful procedures in the hospital setting as well as in the ambulance service. It is fast-acting, self-regulated and is rapidly eliminated from the body once inhalation stops. Extensive experience in the use of ENTONOX has demonstrated that these effects are predictable and reliable; it has proved to be a very safe analgesic with minimal side effects.
The rapid offset offers a clear advantage over many other analgesic agents. If used in combination for pain relief, ENTONOX may allow a reduction in the doses of the other agents such as morphine and pethidine, thus reducing the potential serious side effects associated with them (1).
