BOC is the UK's leading supplier of medical gases and related services for healthcare professionals. Throughout hospitals, ambulance services, treatment centres, GP surgeries, veterinary and dental practices a wide range of medical gases, are used to provide crucial care and improve the lives of patients.
We provide products for almost every hospital department, from nitrous oxide for anaesthetics to helium for cooling the magnets of MRIs. Our services also extend to primary care and increasingly into patients’ homes, through our VITALAIR network.
BOC has been a major force behind many important developments. We’ve been instrumental in developing gases like ENTONOX and in promoting the healthcare profession’s understanding of the clinical benefits of oxygen, HELIOX and other gases.

As a leader in this increasingly important field, our goal is to empower healthcare professionals in providing better and safer patient care when using gas enabled solutions for patient treatment.
Our focus on pharmaceutical quality in the complete chain of events for medical gases, from the production facility to the administration to the patient, increases the level of patient safety in hospitals and in homecare. In documenting the toxicological and clinical aspects of our medicinal gases, we have followed the guidelines for safety and efficacy documentation for “Well established products” set by the International Conference of Harmonisation (ICH). In the case of traditional medicinal gases such as oxygen and nitrous oxide, our documentation summarises existing, public domain, scientific literature according to guidelines for so called "Well established products." With new gas enabled therapies, pre-clinical and clinical documentation follows the same development guidelines as for new pharmaceutical compounds.
